United Health Care
Design, Development & QA
This project demonstrates my ability to take a basic Word document brief with brand assets and transform it into a fully designed and then coded email. I handled the process end-to-end: interpreting the brief, applying design principles, and developing a responsive, cross-client-compatible HTML email.
-
Interpreting the Brief
-
Extracted key messaging and visual hierarchy from the Word document.
-
Identified essential content sections like the headline, callouts (e.g., Service Heroes), and closing remarks for emphasis.
-
-
Design Stage
-
Visual Layout: Created a clear and engaging layout based on the content, emphasizing headers, quotes, and recognition sections.
-
Brand Consistency: Applied UnitedHealthcare's brand guidelines, including typography, colors, and image placement.
-
Mobile-First Approach: Designed with responsive layouts to ensure readability and functionality across devices.
-
-
Development Stage
-
HTML Coding: Hand-coded the email to reflect the design, ensuring clean, maintainable, and responsive code.
-
Cross-Client Compatibility: Addressed quirks in email clients like Outlook using techniques such as inline styles and VML for background images.
-
Accessibility Compliance: Added alt text for images and structured the content for screen readers to ensure usability for all audiences.
-
-
Quality Assurance
-
Rendering Tests: Used Email on Acid to validate design consistency across 90+ email clients.
-
Functionality Tests: Verified all links and interactive elements worked correctly.
-
Performance Optimization: Minimized load time by compressing assets and cleaning up code.
